What People Are Saying About Dan
Daniel K. Inouye, the most senior member of the United States Senate, has quietly made his mark as a can-do legislator, working to benefit all of Hawaii. He has fought for jobs, quality education for our keiki, better infrastructure for our islands, and a cleaner environment. This is the work he's done since he was first elected in to the Senate in 1962, and this is the work he'll continue to do in 2010.
People across Hawaii are talking about how Senator Dan has helped them and delivered for Hawaii. These are their stories.

“Hawai‘i has received more than $2.1 billion through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. As Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Inouye is in the strongest position possible to look out for the Islands and our local economy. As a result, Hawai‘I has received more than $2.1 billion in federal stimulus funding, including $127.5 million for highways, $225 million for military construction, $121 million to renovate the federal building and courthouse, $142 million for a new NOAA center on Ford Island and $44 million for buses. Additional federal funding supports public housing, wastewater systems, education, healthcare, airports… and most of all, it creates and protects jobs. In Washington, DC, seniority means clout. Thank goodness we have that kind of clout with Dan Inouye.”
