What People Are Saying About Dan
Daniel K. Inouye, the most senior member of the United States Senate, has quietly made his mark as a can-do legislator, working to benefit all of Hawaii. He has fought for jobs, quality education for our keiki, better infrastructure for our islands, and a cleaner environment. This is the work he's done since he was first elected in to the Senate in 1962, and this is the work he'll continue to do in 2010.
People across Hawaii are talking about how Senator Dan has helped them and delivered for Hawaii. These are their stories.

“Senator Inouye’s vision has helped Maui emerge as a leader in super-computing, astronomy, optics and defense research, giving Hawai‘i’s brightest stars new options for high-paying careers. He helped establish the Maui Space Surveillance System, the Pacific Disaster Center and the Joint Information Technology Center. He continually supports initiatives by the University of Hawai‘i and Maui’s defense technology companies – totaling about $75 million annually. And he has secured federal funding to lure high-technology companies to the Islands. Early on, Senator Inouye recognized the need to prepare students for 21st century jobs by encouraging them to enter science, technology, engineering and math career paths. His support of the ‘Women in Technology’ program helps it reach more than 10,000 girls, minorities and under-represented students each year.”
