What People Are Saying About Dan

Daniel K. Inouye, the most senior member of the United States Senate, has quietly made his mark as a can-do legislator, working to benefit all of Hawaii. He has fought for jobs, quality education for our keiki, better infrastructure for our islands, and a cleaner environment. This is the work he's done since he was first elected in to the Senate in 1962, and this is the work he'll continue to do in 2010.

People across Hawaii are talking about how Senator Dan has helped them and delivered for Hawaii. These are their stories.

“The $9.6 million Senator Inouye helped to secure was vital in creating the Community Clinic of Maui’s new $11 million home in Wailuku. Since opening, it has expanded our island’s healthcare services to the poor, homeless and uninsured. Dan’s support of Maui’s Memorial Hospital’s simulation training lab lets healthcare professionals train on computer-programmed, life-like mannequins, ensuring that they are at the top of their game. And thanks to his seniority in Washington, we were able to fund new federal community health centers in Hana, Moloka‘i and Lana‘i, with a combined annual budget of $6.5 million. In addition, the Moloka‘i Community Health Center received $700,000 to renovate the former Pau Hana Inn, enabling it to consolidate its healthcare services and begin a healthy meal program.”
