What People Are Saying About Dan

Daniel K. Inouye, the most senior member of the United States Senate, has quietly made his mark as a can-do legislator, working to benefit all of Hawaii. He has fought for jobs, quality education for our keiki, better infrastructure for our islands, and a cleaner environment. This is the work he's done since he was first elected in to the Senate in 1962, and this is the work he'll continue to do in 2010.

People across Hawaii are talking about how Senator Dan has helped them and delivered for Hawaii. These are their stories.

“Senator Inouye has supported Moloka‘i’s people and business over many years, and secured economic investments in the millions in agriculture and aquaculture related endeavors, including ranching, cattle, pigs and goats, taro, sweet potato, papaya, banana, flowers, coffee, vegetables, mac nuts, and seafood. Federal funds have bought equipment, built fences, installed water tanks, irrigation, windbreaks, enhanced processing and more. Specific projects include the construction of the Moloka‘i Slaughterhouse, certification training for sanitation and food production, and farm training and business counseling to start or strengthen small business family farms and entrepreneurs. As part of this effort, new computers with specialized agriculture software were purchased to meet instructional needs of the Maui Community College Moloka‘i Farm. With this support entrepreneurs and families have been able to start or expand their businesses, and market their products on other islands and the mainland through their new knowledge.”
