What People Are Saying About Dan
Daniel K. Inouye, the most senior member of the United States Senate, has quietly made his mark as a can-do legislator, working to benefit all of Hawaii. He has fought for jobs, quality education for our keiki, better infrastructure for our islands, and a cleaner environment. This is the work he's done since he was first elected in to the Senate in 1962, and this is the work he'll continue to do in 2010.
People across Hawaii are talking about how Senator Dan has helped them and delivered for Hawaii. These are their stories.

“Senator Daniel Inouye has helped secure $150 million to date for the Saddle Road Improvement Project, to provide a safe and efficient route for cross-island traffic between East and West Hawai‘i. The 48-mile Saddle Road Improvement Project is the largest civil works project for the Big Island, which stimulates our local economy. Other major infrastructure projects supported by Senator Inouye include $39.4 million for the new Kona Air Traffic Control Tower, $3.1 million for improvements at Kawaihae Harbor, $7.1 million for retrofitting and repair of the Hilo Federal Building and U.S. Post Office, and $9 million for Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. And the new $35 million Mid-Level Road Project represents not only the largest expenditure of federal stimulus money on a Hawai‘i road project, but also one of the first major roads to be built by Hawai‘I County in Kona since Statehood.”
