U.S. SENATOR DANIEL K. INOUYE LAUNCHES 2010 RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN
WHAT: U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, joined by nearly 2,000 elected officials, community leaders, volunteers and other supporters, will make his formal announcement for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Background:
Daniel K. Inouye currently serves as the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee and is a senior member of the Commerce, Rules and Indian Affairs Committees. Now the second most senior member of the U.S. Senate, he was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1962 and is now serving his eighth consecutive term. He is known for his distinguished record as a legislative leader, and as a World War II combat veteran with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, who earned the nation’s highest award for military valor, the Medal of Honor.
