Kenny and Jessica Inouye

Kenny and Jessica InouyeDan and Maggie Inouye’s son, Ken Inouye, was born in 1964.  After attending preschool in Hawaii, at Mother Rice, he was raised in Washington, DC. Ken was educated in Maryland’s public school system, and in Hawaii, where he embraced the Aloha Spirit during summer and holiday breaks.  He never became as good a surfer as he would have liked, but the long stretches in Hawaii made it possible for Ken and his dad to go fishing together, and for Ken to hone his skateboarding skills at Aala Park.

Inheriting his father’s passion for music, he took up music at an early age and even managed to convince Dan to accompany him to a KISS rock concert on December 19, 1976—the day Ken’s father, typically a fan of big band and swing music, soared permanently into the dad stratosphere.  After graduating from Winston Churchill High School, Ken enrolled at George Washington University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

An accomplished guitar-player by his early 20s, Ken played music professionally and worked as a music-booking agent before returning to GWU to pursue a master’s degree in Arts Management.

Today Ken works in Washington, his dual degrees put to use monitoring legislation and regulation affecting the entertainment industry.

Ken is married to Jessica Carroll, a graphic designer originally from Rochester, New York.

Though the Inouyes live in the Washington metro area, Ken returns frequently to Hawaii, where he still manages to squeeze in a skateboarding session or two between family commitments.
